Florida Prelicensure Requirements

A Community Association Manager license is required of any individual who provides management services for a community association with more than 10 units or a budget in excess of $100,000 dollars.
Management services include:
  • Controlling or disbursing funds
  • Preparing budgets
  • Noticing and conducting meetings
  • Coordinating maintenance
  • Or any other day to day services for a community association (Part VIII, Chapter 468, F.S.)

5-Step Process

1. Request  a paper application by calling the DBPR at 1(850) 487-1395 or apply online.  Visit www.myfloridalicense.com.Click tab “Apply For A License”. Fill out the form or print and mail the application. 
2. Pay the application fee online or mail it to the DBPR.
3. Submit electronic fingerprints through Pearson VUE. Information regarding the process, fee, and locations is on the DBPR’s website or call Pearson VUE at 1(877) 238-8232 or visit www.pearsonvue.com
4. Attend prelicensure course and submit the certificate of completion to the DBPR.  Gray Systems, Inc. provides certificates at the end of the class.   You send the certificate to the DBPR by mail to: 1940 N Monroe St, Tallahassee, FL 32399-0783 or by fax to: 1 (850)921-6636.
5. When you are approved to take the examination, you will be instructed to contact Pearson VUE at 1(888) 204-6230 to schedule it. Upon passing the exam, you will receive a score report and Pearson VUE will contact the DBPR which will issue your license.
