Service Dogs? Ask Fred!

Dear Fred,
What are the rules, if any, regarding service animals and owners? Can you ask for Identification from the owner of the animal, to make sure the animal is for a service?

T.I.
Sanford, FL.

Dear T.I.,
If the animal is a service animal, you can ask if it is trained to provide a service. If it is an emotional support animal, you can only ask the owner or tent to provide evidence that the animal was prescribed by a qualified professional.

I hope this helps. Let me know if you need additional information.
