Paperless licensing comes to Florida

On May 4, 2018, contractors in Florida were given the opportunity for expedited licensing.  The Department of Business and Professional Regulation (DBPR) announced “an advancement in how we license construction contractors in the State of Florida”.

The implementation of electronic delivery of licenses upon issuance will save thousands of contractors the time, toil and trouble of waiting on snail mail.  Licensees may log onto a secure online account with the Department to print their licenses.  According to the DBPR, “This will allow new licensees to enter the work force at least 7 to 10 business days early”.

The new paperless system also allows licensees to renew a license online and print the license at their convenience, including a duplicate licenses as needed without paying a fee.
